Deadmau5 has recently begun promoting the speaker system by Sonos. This is not only showcased on the Sonos website, but on the header of Deadmau5.com as well. This inverse relationship is unique in that a musician’s website typically does not promote products (Dr. Dre’s website does not even promote Beats by Dre on the front page). These sound great, they are comfortable. They seem a bit flimsy given the price, however, I was fairly happy with them until I found out the one fatal flaw...at fairly moderate levels, the outside world can hear pretty much anything you are listening too. I rarely write reviews for products, but the beats deserved one. I have never heard my music so clearly. I listened to Bonnie Raitt, Lil Wayne, Streisnad, and heard ever minute detail of the song. Things I've never heard before on regular headphones was picked up by the beats. The noise canceling is not perfect, but it works. If noise canceling is your main concern I'd go with Bose. The headphones do leak noise quite a bit, however, I find that I can have my iPod on 15% of volume and it does not leak. It also of course depends on the type of song as to how bad the leaking will be. Overall I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. Noise canceling could be a little better and leakage could be reduced, but it doesn't hinder my enjoyment at all. Nice job Monster. [read more ]
